Let's be clear

Laos, the third stop — not the only one

Asian Road isn't a Lao restaurant. It's Southeast Asian street food with no fixed country, borrowing from five cuisines — Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia — what each does best.

After Vietnam and Cambodia, the road crosses Laos. It's stop 03: the stop of sticky rice, eaten with your fingers. A simple gesture, and a grain you find again at the end of the meal, for dessert.

What we brought back

What Laos left on the road

Not a copied recipe: a grain, a gesture, and a dessert slipped into a menu that mixes the stops.

  • Sticky rice

Steamed, dense and tender: the grain that gives the Laos stop its identity.

  • The gesture

Over there, you roll it and eat it with your fingers. Here, it keeps that street simplicity, no ceremony.

  • The Golden Sticky Rice

The dessert that comes straight from it: “Sticky rice naturally coloured with the season, with sweet coconut milk or grated coconut as you prefer, finished with touches of gold.”

All the way to dessert

The box first, sticky rice to finish

A bit of buzz outside, the kitchen in sight, a box served in three minutes — and the Laos stop waiting for you at dessert: the spirit of Southeast Asia's night markets, Aix edition.

One base out of five, one flavour out of five, readable at a glance at the counter. Twenty-five pairings, no booking needed.

  2. A cook tossing noodles in a wok over a high flame

    The flavour hits the wok

Over a high flame, right in front of you: that's what gives the box its taste of fire and street food.

The Golden Sticky Rice for the road

Laos's sticky rice, coloured with the season, slips into the bag with the box: at the office, on a bench in town or back home.
